Gifts For Him

gifts-for-him

Happy Holidays Dolls! I’m always very excited about this time of year because it generally means I get to spend time with my full family, as my brother flies in from Ireland. The time we spend together is so precious, as we pass the days eating, drinking, and cracking jokes.  Oh and shopping! We do our fair share ;).

With Nigell and Roble flying in from Ireland, my dad, and Jason- I’ve got a lot of stylish men in my family to get gifts for. My family does this funny thing where every year we say “no gifts” but then inevitably everyone buys a gift! While the presents aren’t the priority, it’s definitely nice to buy a treat for your loved-ones every now and then…especially if you don’t see each other that often. So if you’re like me and looking for gifts for the special guys in your life, then look no further!

1. J. Crew Cotton-Cashmere Sweater. Disclaimer: This list has a number of monogrammed goodies, beginning with this cotton-cashmere sweater from J.Crew.  I love a monogram! I think it always special to have something personalized for you. J.Crew sweaters are a great and practical gift this season. Take the gift over the top by adding your man’s initials.

2. WANT Les Essentiels Backpack.  Men need bags even if they don’t want to admit it. It’s nice to have a small bag to put a laptop and some essentials for work, or it’s great to have a bag this size for a “personal item” when traveling. I can imagine Jason putting his snacks, his Bose headphones, an extra shirt, or his favorite small toiletries to freshen up when we’re traveling. I love this WANT Les Essentiels backpack because it’s a great size that doesn’t seem like a high schooler would wear it, but also won’t make a man feeling like he’s carrying a purse. I also love the navy color (it seems less utilitarian than black), the luxe leather details, and minimal gold branding.

3. Mr. Porter Grooming Kit. Speaking of small toiletries for your guy to pack, I’m OBSESSED with this Mr. Porter grooming kit. It comes with 12 perfectly sized products for him to try multiple items and see what he likes best. Some of the luxury products include Oribe shampoo, Malin + Goetz shaving cream, and Penhaligon deodorant. For less than $100 this is a steal. And look at that packaging… go on, get this…your guy will love you for it!

4. CaseApp Custom iPhone Case. With the launch of the iPhone 7 this year, a custom phone case is a great gift! Or maybe he doesn’t have a new phone, so a new case would give it a fresh look! With CaseApp you can build a cool new case from pre-designed styles, OR completely design your own case from scratch with their online tool! Go personal with your guys initials, a logo, or a style that means something special to him. I just ordered a couple of my own to give my phone a fresh look. So check back to the blog to see how they turned out! **Psst… want to save 20% on this gift? use Coupon Code: PAPERDOLLXMAS20 at checkout, and you’re in.  Consider it an early gift from me to you!**

5. Mark And Graham Monogrammed Linen Handkerchief. My father-in-law once told Jason that a gentlemen should always have a handkerchief on him, because you never know when you’re going to need one! And I have to say…they are handy to have. Jason loves having personalized handkerchiefs with his initials, which are a great and practical (also inexpensive) gift.

6. Common Projects Sneakers. For the uber stylish guy in your life who loves his shoes…chances are he has his eye on a pair of a Common Projects. The simple, luxury sneaker has become all the rage in the past year or so, coming in a range of colors from classic black to the palest of pink. My favorites? The navy leather and the almond-colored suede (seen above). I got these for Jason for our anniversary and he loves them! Your guy will too!

7. Shinola Hard Linen Monogrammed Journal. Last but not least is a good ole notebook. Shinola has a great range of sizes and colors that are also able to be personalized. It’s a great and practical gift to get your guy a fresh notebook to start the new year in style at work. I love the linen texture and variety of colors including red, sky blue, and hunter green. As a matter of fact, I want one for myself!

Speaking of gifts I want… Ladies, you’re not forgotten. Your gift guide will be up next week! Happy holidays y’all!

You know how sometimes you can like a piece of clothing, but it just doesn’t like you back? In most cases, that’s me and jumpsuits! I think they’re so cool and can be dressed up or down…but the majority of them just don’t fit my body type. Either the torso is too short, the legs are too tight, or it just doesn’t look quite right! Well in the case that I do find a jumpsuit I like (see my summer one here), I make sure to not let it go! Imagine my surprise and delight when I found the perfect Fall jumpsuit that was not only lust-worthy, but flattering!

The low neckline, combined with the super wide leg gives off those 70’s vibes I’ve been feeling this year. Not to mention the navy color adjustable waist-tie to add some versatility and ease so I can wear it to work. I also love the extra long sleeves that are sometimes hard to find on a good jumpsuit. For good measure, I paired the outfit with my 70’s inspired Chloe bag and Jennifer Zeuner necklace.  Throw this on a with a moto jacket, or even a velvet one to take the retro look to the next level. You can pull the tie a little tighter in the front to make the ensemble more work appropriate. For my weekend outing, I styled the jumpsuit with my favorite gold necklaces and a navy faux fur stole to combat the chills! Wear this to dinner with your girlfriends, or on a weekend shopping trip when you want to be comfy but stylish.

Jumpsuit: Anthropologie. Fur Stole: Helen Moore. Bag: Chloé. Sandals: Sam Edelman. Necklace: Jennifer Zeuner.

Lust List

Tis The Season

Can you believe the holidays are upon us already?! Don’t get me wrong…I love this time of year. The sights, the sounds, the scents, quality time with family and friends…what’s not to love!! Oh and did I forget to mention the shopping?

Although I don’t love battling crowds, I do enjoy the holiday fashion and picking out the perfect presents for my loved ones…including myself. While I do plan on doing a more holistic holiday gift guide, consider this my pre-holiday lust list to get you in the mood!

1. J.Crew Wool-Cashmere Topcoat – Brrrrr…it’s cold people! Fall/Winter finally decided to show up! It’s time to break out the heavier coats and bundle up in style. I just got a long double-breasted coat (see here!) and I love this menswear-inspired one from J.Crew in silvery grey. The longer silhouette is so flattering and will keep you both bundled and chic.

2. J.Crew Satin Ankle Strap Flats – Speaking of J.Crew, they’re making a double-feature on this week’s list. I’m totally a heels girl, and I usually love strutting myself in pair of sky high pumps. But sometimes you are just feeling a pair of classy flats. These are just that! Take a break from the heels and slip on these satin jeweled flats that are dressy enough for your holiday party, but comfy enough to actually stand/dance in! (P.S. I got similar satin flats from J.Crew that I love- you can see them here).

3. Target Cashmere Beanie – Time to break out that beanie baby! My ears often hurt when walking to work in the blistering cold. A beanie is a cute and functional way to keep you warm, and can add some color to your outfit! I love this red cashmere one that’s a steal from Target! Definitely a must-have!

4. Club Monaco Weronika Sweater – Sweater season is upon us, and I’m always looking for the perfect combination of cozy and cute. When my friend Kelley wore this cream Club Monaco beauty to the office, I knew she hit the sweater jackpot. I love the chunky knit, perfect winter white shade, and chiffon ribbon detailing on the sleeves.

5. stila Liquid Lipstick – I’ve professed my love for stila liquid lipsticks before (see here), but this one has to be my favorite. The creamy texture glides on easy and dries to a rich matte pout that lasts for hours. “Beso” is my favorite true-red lip shade that is the perfect holiday red for a classic and festive makeup look.

6. Christian Louboutin So Kate Metallic Leather Pumps – Here are those sky-high heels I mentioned! I always love a good metallic shoe, and these would be amazing for any holiday look! Plus, they’re cool and simple enough that you can wear these well past the holiday season to add a bit of glam and shine.

7. Ted Baker Timu Embellished Collared Dress – Can you really ever have enough LBD’s? I love this one from Ted Baker because of the simplicity and white collar and cuffs. However, it still brings a little something extra to the table with its addition of sparkly embellishments on the collar for a touch of sparkle.

What’s your favorite on the list? Let me know in the comments below! I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday this week!
