A Warm Winter

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and spend time with family and friends! I personally had an amazing time, because my brother visited from Ireland, so I got to spend time with my full family as well as Jason’s.  Although, it was a little bit hectic driving all over the South to make sure we saw everyone.  Part of that travel included going home to Florida, which had very different weather from Atlanta. I ditched my heavy coats to enjoy the warm and comfortable weather in the sunshine state!

When packing my bags, I reached for some of my favorite Bl-nk pieces for my trip home. If you haven’t heard of this label before, they are a London-based brand with a uniquely bohemian luxe aesthetic! I love their pieces because they are easy and breezy with an effortlessly cool look about them.  Luckily, my pieces suited the weather perfectly with their long sleeves, yet light fabrics. I can see myself wearing these from season to season, throwing a leather jacket over my shoulders for chillier months, then with strappy sandals for the Summer.  I got my pieces direct from the brand, but you can shop my favorites (amongst other amazing pieces) at Anthropologie! I’ve already got my eye on a couple of new items for Spring!

How To Wear Sequins After The Holiday

Sequins are my favorite to wear all-year-round! But, sometimes the holidays get an extra dose, as we all want to dress up for holiday parties, NYE, and general festive occasions. In all honesty, I wore the cutest sequin Tibi look on Christmas day. But I’m sure you have all seen your share of burgundy or metallic sequins for the season.  Instead, I thought it would be more impactful to show how I wear sequins when the holidays are done! Like I mentioned, color is key when it comes to sequins! They already give off a “party” vibe, so what you pair it with is equally as important when wanting to dress sequins down. In this case,  I thought the pastel hues of my outfit are more of a welcome sign to spring than a nod to the holidays. Pairing sequins with a thick or chunky sweater is also a great way to make your look more casual. I would wear this to work, happy hour/dinner, or a weekend out on the town.  When the weather warms up, I might swap the chunky sweater for a crisp, white collared shirt. What do you dolls think? Would you wear sequins as a part of your everyday wardrobe?

Candy-Colored

Holiday time can be dominated by jewel tones like ruby, emerald, and even metallics. With this look, I wanted to switch things up and wear candy-colored hues that are usually reserved for Spring.  The statement piece of this outfit is definitely my coat, which came from my favorite vintage store in Jacksonville.   After I purchased, the owner told me that the coat actually belonged to Nat King Cole’s wife, and she was so happy it went to a fashion-lover would appreciate it. That beautiful story about the coat’s history made me love it even more. As if the pastel tweed and mother of pearl buttons weren’t reason enough!

While my coat may be vintage, the dress underneath can be purchased in-stores today! The cozy sweater fabric and the prettiest shade of pink make this J.Crew piece an easy no-brainer.  Of course, I paired my pink outfit with pink, satin Manolos to finish the look! How sweet!
