Lust List

Vacation, All I Ever Wanted

vacation-all-i-ever-wanted

Everything about this lust list makes me think about (and want) a European adventure. Just in time for Summer, these picks will have you vacation ready.

1. Hat: Eugenia Kim.

I love a great straw hat in the summertime, and this one, with its grosgrain ribbon and unique shape makes it feminine and cool.

2. Dress: DVF.

The navy, chiffon DVF dress is easy and breezy, perfect for strolling through museums and dining al fresco.

3. Lace Top & Bottom: Else & Else.

Sexy (and matching) underwear to wear under that flirty summer dress!

4. Sunglasses: Tom Ford.

Every vacation needs a pair of classic dark sunglasses that go with everything. I love the half-tortoise coloring and rounded silhouette on these Tom Ford frames.

5. Lipstick: Tom Ford.

A bright orange-red lipstick that’s matte but doesn’t dry it your lips.

6. Sandals: J.Crew.

I really like the deep olive color of these J.Crew stacked sandals. They’re unique but still practical, and would go with so much. I’m also in love with the double ankle strap that not only adds sex appeal, but also stability and comfort!

7. Purse: Lanvin.

A crossbody is a great summer bag to throw in the essentials and get going. I often find myself wanting a smaller and lighter bag to sling over my shoulder. This Lanvin had me at first sight! The subtle logo embossed onto the cream leather just looks so rich.

Being from the South, I always found myself to be more of a sundress girl. However, since living in New York, I have a new-found appreciation for throwing on a comfy t-shirt with a pair of jeans for ease. Of course, I still dress the combo up with a cute pair of heels and usually a blazer or leather jacket. I think it adds a bit more polish and style to a work-day outfit.

I have a couple graphic tees that I wear on rotation, including a vintage Adidas and super soft Pink Floyd shirt left over from a commercial shoot I worked on. But my absolute favorite is my Hall & Oates concert tee that my husband got me when we saw the duo on tour this year. Jason and I adore H&O, so every time I wear the shirt, I have happy memories of dancing the night away at the concert. And while even though I don’t wear t-shirts often, I think the personal connection makes it even more special when I do.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mothers-Day-Gift-Guide

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so I thought I would share some thoughtful gift ideas to spoil your special lady.

P.S. Mom if you’re reading- no, you’re not getting ALL of the below.

1. Notes: Sugar Paper.

My mom loves to write hand-written notes and letters.  I love Sugar Paper’s products, as they are always classy, but have personality. I actually chose Sugar Paper cards when writing to my parents and now husband on my wedding day. The classic notepad with gold foil detail would be a pretty accent to mom’s desk. SP also has custom stationary available if your mom loves to write letters like mine does. And if it’s a little bit of a splurge, Etsy is also a great destination for personal stationary. I love this store that lets you customize and make a truly personalized gift!

2. Card Case: Prada.

You can’t go wrong with a wallet, because I think it’s a luxury gift that you might not buy for yourself. I love this Prada card case, because it’s obviously beautiful, but it’s also the perfect size for slipping in a clutch or cross-body on a summer evening.

3. Candle: Diptyque.

My mom is a serious candle lover who creates ambiance by burning candles all over the house every evening.  This Diptyque candle is always a favorite, filling any room with its sultry, floral scent.

4. Cleansing Brush: Clarisonic.

My mom actually got a Clarisonic a couple years ago for Mother’s Day, and she absolutely fell in love. The deep-clean feeling is amazing and undeniable.  The Mia Fit is a new addition to the Clarisonic line, boasting an even more compact and light-weight design with two speeds (delicate and power cleanse).  It’s the perfect size for a mom on the go and can even be charged with a USB chord when traveling.

5. Hand Cream: La Mer.

I’ve recently found myself becoming one of those women who is constantly putting on hand cream. Call me a grandma, but I just call myself moisturized! My favorite hand cream by far is the hand treatment by La Mer. It’s gel-cream texture goes on like silk, and doesn’t have a thick or greasy feeling. I love that my hands instantly feel moisturized, but still clean – and without a film over my rings. I know it seems like a splurge, but once you try it, you’ll be obsessed. And so will mom!

6. Fragrance: Maison Martin Margiela.

My friend Rachel wears the Margiela “Jazz Club” fragrance, and ever since I smelled the slightly masculine and smoky vanilla scent – I’ve been wanting a bottle of Margiela’s “Replica” to call my own. While Jazz Club might be perfect for the cooler months, Flower Market is amazing for spring. It’s fresh, crisp, and you guessed it…floral, while not being overpowering.
