So I’ve got to be honest…it’s hard feeling great about yourself all the time! In recent months, I’ve been hard on myself about my weight, accomplishments, and just forget that sometimes I can be my own worst critic. I get upset when clothes I used to love don’t fit anymore, or I feel like I can’t wear what I want. Despite those times, I know that all I can do is take steps to try and be better every day. It’s not about my weight, but being healthy and making better decisions for the long-term. When I feel this way, it’s rare and amazing when you find an outfit that makes you feel extra glamorous and special. That was this dress for me. I saw it in the window of DvF and instantly fell in love. With its flowy, kimono-esque style and vibrant colors, I thought it would be super flattering no matter what shape or size the wearer. I love that the wrap waist is adjustable and the high-low silhouette makes it easy to wear with heels, or even gladiator flats for a more casual daytime look. This time, I opted for nude accessories and strapped heels for a birthday/Fathers’s Day brunch with my dad. I felt extra confident in the look, and sometimes I forget that’s the most important accessory of all! I can’t wait to wear it again, and think it’s definitely a “must pack” for the Hamptons later in the Summer. Do you dolls like the look? Is there an outfit that makes you feel extra confident or special? Tell me more in the comments below!

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been lucky enough to take a couple weekend trips back down South to soak up some sunshine and escape the cold and stress of the city. My first stop? Miami! To be honest, this trip had me seeing a different side of the sunshine state and the flavorful city down South. It’s funny since I’m actually from Florida, but the weekend exposed me to a new view of my home state.

First of all, Miami has grown so much in recent years. Jason and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Coconut Grove, where we enjoyed relaxing afternoons by the pool. But in the evenings, we were close enough to hit South Beach, The Design District, and enjoy the city’s new architecture, restaurants, and shopping. We ate at our favorite modern Italian restaurant, Cecconi’s, at Soho Beach House and enjoyed a “Letters to Andy Warhol” exhibit during our last night in Florida. It was the perfect evening and perfect trip!

We also welcomed the escape from New York, because I was able to break out some summer-wear and put my over-the-knee boots away in favor of sexy sandals. During the day, I basically LIVED in this new black off-the-shoulder dress with a smocked top. The a-line cut made it super comfortable, while bare shoulders and bell sleeves kept it undeniably on-trend. I wore the dress with strappy nude sandals, and 70’s inspired details including my “Faye” bag and favorite hoop necklace. The fabric is so easy and breezy, I also threw it on over my swimsuit when heading to the pool the next day! The best part? The dress is only $59!! Can you believe it? I love that I can dress this up for a summertime evening event with some tall strappy sandals – or down with oversized sunnies and gladiators. This one is bound to be a staple in my closet once the weather gets warm again in NYC. Until then….we’ll always have Miami.

You know how sometimes you can like a piece of clothing, but it just doesn’t like you back? In most cases, that’s me and jumpsuits! I think they’re so cool and can be dressed up or down…but the majority of them just don’t fit my body type. Either the torso is too short, the legs are too tight, or it just doesn’t look quite right! Well in the case that I do find a jumpsuit I like (see my summer one here), I make sure to not let it go! Imagine my surprise and delight when I found the perfect Fall jumpsuit that was not only lust-worthy, but flattering!

The low neckline, combined with the super wide leg gives off those 70’s vibes I’ve been feeling this year. Not to mention the navy color adjustable waist-tie to add some versatility and ease so I can wear it to work. I also love the extra long sleeves that are sometimes hard to find on a good jumpsuit. For good measure, I paired the outfit with my 70’s inspired Chloe bag and Jennifer Zeuner necklace.  Throw this on a with a moto jacket, or even a velvet one to take the retro look to the next level. You can pull the tie a little tighter in the front to make the ensemble more work appropriate. For my weekend outing, I styled the jumpsuit with my favorite gold necklaces and a navy faux fur stole to combat the chills! Wear this to dinner with your girlfriends, or on a weekend shopping trip when you want to be comfy but stylish.
