To me the holiday season means family, friends, giving, and fabulous parties! And what do holiday parties mean? Festive fashion of course! This time of year usually calls for velvet, red, gold and sequins. However, sometimes I like to be a little more unexpected with my fashion choices in and around the holidays.

While those trends are always classic and beautiful, this year I opted for something a little more playful. Some of you might have seen me wear this flirty Monique Lhuillier cocktail dress for the Spanx fashion show earlier in the year. However, I thought the recent festivities called for me to bring it out of the closet again and throw on an edgy leather jacket to boot. Of course, I didn’t throw out tradition entirely, as I added a holiday touch with my red velvet slingbacks that I got in Amsterdam! I feel the pop of red and texture inspires feelings of customary holiday-attire but the primary color palette, polka dots and leather brings a fresh perspective to this time of year. All of this to say… don’t feel like you have to go hunting for the perfect red sparkly cocktail dress this season – maybe just add a touch of holiday to something you already own. Or, if you do find that perfect holiday outfit – go for it! But make sure it’s something you’ll want to wear more than once a year.

Well, all of this talk about holiday parties has me in the mood for some spiked cider! I’m going to enjoy the day and join in on the festivities. Have a great weekend dolls! xo

I feel like I say it every week and then have to take it back…but Fall is officially here in Atlanta. This week was one of the first where it was consistently chilly and a sweater was absolutely necessary.

As you can imagine, the day goes from being chilly to warming up a quite a bit in the Atlanta sun. To combat the bi-polar weather, I’ve been wearing sweaters with skirts as a happy compromise. This year, my go-to sweater is a cream off-the shoulder number from Intermix. On this occasion, I decided to pair it with a metallic, blue pleated skirt and my Miu Miu oxfords. While they’re totally dramatic and induce thoughts of the Spice Girls, these denim studded oxfords are my new shoe when I want comfort. They might not be for everybody, but they’re for me!

If you’re interested in my platforms, then I’ve linked some other favorites below.

Cream Off-the-Shoulder Sweater: Intermix.  Metallic Pleated Skirt: Anthropologie (on sale!).  Denim Platform Oxfords: Miu Miu.  Handbag: Saint Laurent.  Sunglasses: Gucci.

C’est La Vie

C'est-La-Vie

Ok, so New York has had unseasonably warm weather the past week or so, which has been absolutely amazing! Take that in combination with my recent trips to Miami and Dallas, and I feel like Spring is right around the corner. The sunshine is bringing out all of the city’s vibes and has me feeling feisty fashion-wise. Even if a snowstorm is on it’s way, can’t I pretend that blue skies are in my future? This week, I’m celebrating the joie de vivre and reveling in all things sunshine and rosé.

1. Anthropologie Delman C’est La Vie Slides – These sandals have my motto AND beach day written all over them! I love that the slip-on style and material will allow for sandy or lazy days, but design is chic and incites the carefree Francophile in all of us!

2. Fluoro Crispin Drops – I’m obsessed with these earrings… so I already bought them! They come in so many fun colors, and make me think of fiesta-wear, combined with a strappy dress OR wear them with a crisp white collared shirt and jeans.  Your ears deserve to have some fun too!

3. Lulu & Georgia You Better Have Tacos Doormat – Ok, so nothing screams summer and joie de vivre more than tacos! Am I right?! I love this spunky piece of home décor that will get your place feeling right just in time for warm weather get-togethers.

4. Jonathan Simkhai Pearl Detail Ruffle Top – I have a slight obsession with pearl details.  I love that that the voluminous ruffle is so on-trend, but the navy color doesn’t make the top TOO sweet. I see myself wearing this with edgy ripped jeans, or white ankle-length crops for a more summery look.

5. Gucci Deep-Matte Lipstick – So I have to admit….part of my attraction to lipsticks is their case/packaging.  This Gucci lipstick is so chic and is the perfect matte finish. And in a bright pink, or fire engine red for summer… I have to try it.  Stay tuned!

6. Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish – I am all about this nail color this season! Put away the black… put away the navy… put away the Holiday red.  This light grayish blue lacquer is perfect for this transitional time of year.

7. 3X1 Shelter Straight-Leg Jeans – I love the dip-dye effect of these highwaisted jeans.  They feel 70’s and modern at the same time.  I see myself wearing them with casual slides, or heels and my pearl top.  They’re special, but still classic… two things I look for in a new piece!
