Jewel tones are some of the most flattering colors on the rainbow spectrum. In deep, rich hues, the colors instantly inspire feelings of sophistication and luxury. They obviously become more popular in the Fall, as the previous seasons’ brights and pastels fade away with the Summer sun. Adding jewel tones can be an easy way to transition your wardrobe into the cooler weather – either with an accessory, coat, or shoe. Another thing I love about jewel tones is that you often find them paired with sumptuous fabrics – think silk and velvet. Overall, the deeper saturated colors look great on everyone and will keep your wardrobe on-trend. See below for some of my favorite picks in the season’s hottest shades.
One of the things I love most about my new home is that I live in a prime, but charming shopping village. Within a stone’s throw from my door is access to some of the most beautiful boutiques and on-trend fashion a girl could ask for. I love strolling down the street and exploring my “backyard” while I peruse the stores and admire the window displays. One of the stores that always catches my attention is Brunello Cucinelli. If you’re not familiar, Cucinelli is a heritage brand that exudes the simple elegance of Italian luxury. Understated yet glamorous, the brand merges traditional Italian style with a modern edge. I love that every piece feels luxurious to the touch, looks timeliness, but also feels young and fresh.
When Cucinelli approached me to style some looks for my everyday life, I jumped at the chance! First up is a night out on the town. For me, I’m not the type of girl to throw on a tight dress for dinner or cocktails. I prefer more unexpected pieces like a statement pant or jumpsuit. For my evening look, I opted for embellished high-waisted trousers, paired with a simple tank and blazer. I topped off my look with a waterfall necklace to add a touch more drama and glamour. I could see myself pairing the pants with a cashmere sweater, or even black turtleneck and leather jacket. The blazer? Well it’s not only classic, but impeccably tailored, and I didn’t want to take it off! While Cucinelli does scream luxury, the value and quality speaks for itself. As an aside, I love that the brand is socially conscious and also true to it’s Italian roots. For more information on Cucinelli, I love this GQ article from earlier this season! And for those who want the look for a little less, see my other links below! Can’t get enough of these looks (I know I couldn’t)? I still have my “workday” and “weekend” looks to share with you. Until then, Ciao dolls!
I feel like I say it every week and then have to take it back…but Fall is officially here in Atlanta. This week was one of the first where it was consistently chilly and a sweater was absolutely necessary.
As you can imagine, the day goes from being chilly to warming up a quite a bit in the Atlanta sun. To combat the bi-polar weather, I’ve been wearing sweaters with skirts as a happy compromise. This year, my go-to sweater is a cream off-the shoulder number from Intermix. On this occasion, I decided to pair it with a metallic, blue pleated skirt and my Miu Miu oxfords. While they’re totally dramatic and induce thoughts of the Spice Girls, these denim studded oxfords are my new shoe when I want comfort. They might not be for everybody, but they’re for me!
