Well, it’s official – the trend of the season is the beret. It’s back!

Quick aside, I had a cashmere beret in high school and people made fun of me for wearing it. I was so embarrassed that I gave it away. I wish I could’ve told myself to let the haters and hate and keep that beautiful beret!

In any case, I’m making up for lost time now. While in Ireland, I threw on an emerald beret and coordinating faux croc crossbody bag. I’m very into dark greens this season and I felt these two accessories would be beautiful with other neutrals. For walking around the city, I threw on my favorite comfy Cos dress (sorry it’s sold out) and finished the look with a casual cream jacket (on sale). The oversized lapels, cropped silhouette and drawstring hemline give it an oversized yet put-together fit!

Here’s to more days rocking our favorite Parisian accessory. Très chic!

Trend Alert: Western Details

I recently debuted my newest pair of heels – a black suede sandal that’s right on time with the latest trend – Western details! While I do love trends, I look for ways to incorporate that don’t break the bank, because sometimes trends are over quickly and you don’t want financial regret. If it’s a pricier item, I look for ways to adopt the trend more classically so I’ll feel comfortable wearing the item in seasons to come.

That was the case with these lovely Maje sandals that Jason bought me in Barcelona! While I love the western detail, I feel like it’s not overwhelming and I’ll be excited to wear these for years to come. The classic silhouette and undertested black suede will fit right in with the rest of my wardrobe! Well, I wanted to share the link of where you can buy this pair – not only because they are so cute, but they incredibly comfortable! And while I’m sharing my newest obsession, I thought I’d share some other Western-inspired items that caught my eye.

Western Flat Sandals: If you’re not a heels person, never fear! This Birkenstock-inspired pair is comfy, cute with jeans, and right down the street on the shelves of your local Target.

A Western Boater: I’m slightly hat obsessed and ready to hang up my straw boater for a more Fall-friendly version. You’ll be the chicest gal on the ranch!

The Belt: Last but not least is an easy way to incorporate the western trend – the belt! Here is my favorite (more suede!) courtesy of Free People and another slightly cheaper variation from Urban Outfitters.

What do you dolls think? Are you on board with this trend?

Seeing Sequins

You dolls might have read my most recent post on what to wear a casual night out. The look consisted of a black sweater, some chic sunglasses (if it’s early evening), and your favorite pair of jeans. Easy right? I wore that outfit as a comfortable alternative to getting all dressed up out in Barcelona. Well, when it was time to head back to Dublin, jetlag still had ahold of me, but I wanted something a little more glam. Enter this elevated long sleeve tee, covered in sequins. The color is described as deep well, and it’s the prettiest shade of ink navy. It almost looks black if not in the light. This time when I was heading out – you guessed it…I reached for the same pair of jeans! But instead of a sweater, I threw on this top and the comfiest pair of heels I now own. With western details (another blog post coming on this soon), the heels are perfectly on-trend but classic enough to last from year to year. I love this look because I get to wear sequins without looking like it’s my 21st birthday, or I’m heading out to a night in Vegas. You know what I mean? The light jeans keep it casual and modern. But hey, what girl doesn’t like to the sparkly center of attention!

That night I had the most fantastic time going to dinner with old friends in Ireland and sipping cocktails with my brother. I even hit my late-night Indian spot, a restaurant I’ve frequented since I was 15. Before we hit the town, we also managed to take some photos together…something that my mom was surprised and delighted by. And I have to say…my brother has the blogger poses down pact. Perhaps I should watch my back! Spending time with family is my favorite part of traveling, and this trip was no exception. I hope you dolls stay tuned because I have a couple more Fall looks that I wore while on my trip. Coming to the blog soon!
