This year will be our first holiday season in our new home. On top of this special time, my brother is visiting from Ireland and able to stay with me for the first time ever! Because of this, I wanted to make sure our house was decorated and festive. Despite my desire to embrace the holidays, my work and travel schedule has been insane with limited time to focus on my home. Well, this is where I have to give it up to my mom who did most of the holiday heavy lifting when I was in LA. When I got back from the West Coast, my Christmas tree was up, my tablescape was complete, and the house was full of holiday cheer.

The following week, my mom and I put the finishing touches on the house – including pops of tartan, a couple wreaths, candles (battery-operated) in the windows, colorful bowls of ornaments and holiday candles to make sure the space smells evergreen!

Now that the place feels festive, my outfits have been updated with cheerful accessories to match! In my opinion no one does the holidays as well as J.Crew, so I picked up a couple of items to make me feel merry and bright. A tartan scarf implies the holiday season, but isn’t too over the top. I’ve been wearing it with all black and even bright red sweaters. Speaking of black, I got the cutest kitten-heel pumps with polka dot and mesh details, and the prettiest satin bows on the back. And now that I mention bows, I picked up the cutest hair tie for the finishing touch on a festive look.

I’ll be posting over the holidays, but focusing on being present and spending time with family and friends. I hope you all follow along on Instagram so we can share in the season together!

Well, while Winter might be upon us, I recently had a break from the cold when I went home to Florida for the week. I ditched my turtlenecks and leather coat for breezy dresses and light sweaters that could be layered on when the sun went down.

During that time, I wore one of my new favorite pieces that I can’t wait to wear all through 2019. This sunny, maxi dress has the flirtiest ruffles, pretty chiffon straps (perfect for bows) and a color to turn heads. I find it reminiscent of Beyoncé’s iconic look from her Lemonade album. To make it a look worthy of Queen B, I paired the dress with my new Aquazzura heels. You might have seen these arrive if you follow along with my Instagram stories (I hope you do!).

While the shoes are pretty pricey, I got them as a steal on The Real Real. My friends have officially gotten me addicted to bargain shopping for designer duds on the site. And these shoes were my first find! You know what they say. When life gives you lemons….

Dress: Anthropologie.  Shoes: Aquazzura.

I know I’ve told you guys that I’m genuinely feeling the color green this season. And just not any green…a deep emerald green worthy of the jewel tone title.

You’ve seen my beret – but this time I have a full emerald look to match! Because of my pear body shape, I naturally drawn to A-line dresses. And when I’m lucky, I can find just such a dress with some distinctive details that make it truly special. Such was the case when I saw this emerald dress with a subtle, white pattern. The combination of the balloon sleeves and the D-ring belt around the waist gives this dress a retro touch that pairs perfectly with a matching beret.

With the arrival of chillier temperatures, I threw on my camel coat and nude boots to tone down the head to toe green look. Lastly, I finished my look with a vintage Cartier envelope clutch, purchased at my favorite vintage store in my hometown. Every time I’m in Jacksonville, Florida I have to head to Good Eye House & Style to see what new goodies are in-store. And speaking of that… I’ll be in Jacksonville this week so fingers crossed for some new items coming to the blog soon! xo
