Hotel Domestique

Don’t you love the feeling when you find an absolute gem? Maybe it’s a cashmere sweater on sale, a new fabulous restaurant, or in my case a European getaway that’s only a couple of hours away. Luxury travel has always been one of my passions, and Jason and I love to explore new locations and properties every chance we get. We recently stumbled upon Hotel Domestique in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, right outside of Greenville. It brings the splendor of a charming European villa a little closer to home. Tucked at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you’ve got beautiful scenery, luxurious amenities, a world-class farm-to-table restaurant (more on that later), and easy access to the nearby towns of Asheville and Greenville.

Jason, Elle, and I recently visited, and it’s definitely on our “must return” list when we’re in the area. We were greeted by the most lovely and accommodating staff who had glasses of champagne at the ready (yes, please)! Our room was rustic, yet refined featuring sweeping views of the property, a personal fireplace, and a bottle of wine for mom and dad to enjoy after bedtime. We loved taking walks on the property, sipping coffees (and more wine) in the charming common areas, and dining at Restaurant 17. Again, it felt like we were enjoying dinner at our favorite spot in Italy, but with some Southern flavors and fresh local ingredients incorporated.

While the service and dining experience was enough for us to plan our next trip, the overall aesthetic of the property still takes my breathe away. With such a beautiful location, I had to bring outfits to match. Think furs, rich wool, and airy dresses. You can find select pieces I wore below! And if you happen to find yourself in the mood for a European getaway down South, you have to add Hotel Domestique to the top of your list. We’re already planning our next trip back!

White Midi Dress: Merlette.  Grey Wool Trousers: Lafayette 148. Blush Fox Fur: Brunello Cucinelli (sold out).

Winter Eyelet

When I think of eyelets, I usually think of Spring and Summer. But the truth is that the beautiful lace can be worn any season!

While I would reserve shorter silhouettes for the warmer months, this column midi dress from Sea recently caught my eye. I love the exaggerated sleeves, the length, and most notably the pattern of the large eyelet cascading down the front.

Pair this dress with boots in Fall/Winter, or a strappy sandal in the Summer. For my look, I opted for my classic Stuart Weitzman nudist sandals and my Hunting Season canvas bag. The neutrals work for any season!

Dress: SEA. Bag: Hunting Season.

Best House Slippers

Since I’ve been working from home for the past 2 years, I’ve swapped my heels (for the most part) for more comfortable footwear. Slippers have become the norm around my house! But since I’m obsessed with shoes, I’m still lusting after the most stylish pairs. No frumpy flats for me! I’m talking feathers, shearing, fur…you name it! If you’re in the same boat as me, enjoy this round-up of the most stylish slippers for your cozy time at home.

Gucci: A little bit of logomania never hurt. Plus the cozy shearing will make these designer slippers extra comfortable.

Sleeper Mules: These slippers give me classic boudoir vibes with the combination of satin and detachable feathers. So luxe!

Loewe: Right now I’m loving everything Loewe, especially these slippers with the subtle logo embossed on the rich leather.

Manolo Blahnik: A slipper that you can wear in the house or out on the town! Sign me up for the gorgeous flat version of the iconic  Hangisi.

Sleeper Ballet Flat: Another take on a more traditional ballet flat with multiple ribbons. This pair is girly but still modern.

The Row: The perfect minimalist slipper that you’ll want to wear in and out of the house.
