A Look For Less: Double-Breasted Blazer

Way back in January I shared a post about my favorite cream blazer – a double-breasted beauty from Veronica Beard.  The gold buttons, crisp, bright white and tailored shape brings instant polish to an outfit. Admittedly, the jacket was a little bit of an investment. While it’s not as costly as it’s designer version (Balmain), Veronica Beard ain’t cheap, that’s for sure!

Well for Fall I found a similar jacket that I had to buy in caramel, and I couldn’t wait to share this look for less with you dolls! While I found my new blazer at River Island in Dublin, the US site has some other styles that I love!

Take for one, a cheaper version of my white blazer – Here.

Also, a stunner is the check version that is ideal for the new season. I can just imagine a turtleneck underneath or a fur stole draped over the shoulder to complete the look. Here are the splurge and the steal version.

Splurge: Veronica Beard.  Steal: River Island.

I love them both! In my opinion, some of the fun of fashion is finding the high-end trends and figuring out a way to adopt them that works my lifestyle as well as my wallet. I love finding good quality deals, and I’ll keep sharing them with all of you!

This Fall my best friend got married to the love of her life in the most elegant wedding I’ve ever been to. The event took place in the Berkshires, MA – a location that I’ve only heard about, mostly in the context of Real Housewife getaways.

I was actually in this wedding so I didn’t have to worry about what I was going to wear to the ceremony and reception. However, If you’ve ever been a guest at a destination wedding – you know there’s more than just that one outfit to worry about. Plus with the beautiful guest list and luxurious location, I felt the pressure on the wardrobe front. There’s welcome receptions, rehearsal dinners, and can’t forget the brunches!

Well, while I was in Barcelona in August I came across the prettiest dress that was appropriate for such an event. This Maje number had sheer sleeves, a pleated skirt and tiny daisy details that add a touch of whimsy. Of course, I had to get this dress that went with the Maje western heels that I fell in love with.

I thought this was the perfect look for a Fall wedding brunch. The midi length is lady-like, and the sleeves are perfect for Fall days with a tiny chill in the air. Of course, I loved wearing this during my best friend’s special weekend, but I can’t wait to edge it up by throwing on a leather jacket and even some ankle booties. What can I say, I’ve never met a little black dress that I didn’t love! Of course, I added some luxurious details like my Saint Laurent structured tote to match the elegance of the location. We stayed at the wedding site called The Wheatleigh, which is one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever visited. From the views, the luxurious details, and the attentiveness of the staff, everything was perfection. Of course, I expect nothing less from my girlfriend for her special day. In addition to loving this dress so much, I’m so happy that I now have beautiful memories to go along with the outfit. Now every time I put on this dress, I’ll remember that perfect weekend!

When you hear the colors red, white and blue – what season do you think of? Summer, right!

Well, for Fall I took the Americana color palette and made it more appropriate for the cooler temperatures that we’re so desperately wanting.

Stripes are a must for every season in my opinion, and this look is no exception. I paired my favorite blue/white striped skirt with an equally stripey tee from Forever 21. I love the long sleeves and the red-orange hue of the collar and stripes. Plus, the price isn’t bad to boot!

Speaking of boots (or sneakers for that matter), a casual and cool white sneaker goes with absolutely everything! I wear these with the most colorful outfits (like this one) or even all black! I even wear them to business meetings to make work attire more youthful.

Lastly, I finished my look with my red leather jacket that is uniquely Fall! Thriller-inspired, the beautiful red goes with everything from camel (like my beret) to other bright hues. With the addition of the beret, I suddenly feel more Parisian and less Fourth of July. But hey, nothing wrong with bringing a little summer into this season!
