While it’s never truly been gone, leopard is back in a big way! From shoes to accessories to apparel, this print is a fun way to add spice to any outfit. Well, in this case, my entire look is the spice. When I saw this bustier-top midi dress, I thought it was so unique! The fabric feels thick and expensive, and the buttons down the front are an unexpected touch.  I wore this look for a night on the town during our recent trip to Savannah! We stayed at the luxurious Perry Lane Hotel, which has an elegant and eclectic vibe. With this outfit, I fit right in! I finished my look with satin Balenciaga kitten heels for an additional pop of color!

What do you dolls think? Are you into the animal-print trend?

I feel like I’m constantly in search of a travel outfit that’s equal parts comfortable, equal parts put-together. For my recent trip to Savannah, I looked no further than the affordable, but stylish J.Crew. They have the most gorgeous wide-leg trousers made in a flowing and wrinkle-resistant fabric. I wore them for 4 hours in the car and stepped out looking vacation-ready, not wrinkled! I opted for a navy pair and originally wanted to wear a monochromatic look. However, when I saw the sunshine, I opted for a brighter color palette. One of my favorite color combinations happens to be red and pink, and J.Crew had the same in mind.

While both my pants and top are J.Crew, my accessories are from two other favorites – Mark & Graham and Anthropologie. I kept both my sunglasses and bag coordinated with pops of red, then topped of my look with my favorite Eric Javits hat! Here’s hoping more sunshine and vacation-ready looks are in my near future!

Top: J.Crew.  Pants: J.Crew.  Sunglasses: Sold out but love these (Target).  Bag: Mark & Graham.

Savannah Travel Guide

Recently, I had the chance to visit one of the most beautiful cities in the South…Savannah, Georgia. I hadn’t been in over 7 years and I was excited to see how this Southern city had changed. Some things were just as I remembered them – the sweeping oaks, the breathtaking architecture and the Southern hospitality to name a few. But the city definitely had more to offer this go around and I can’t wait to share some highlights with you!

Where We Stayed:

On this adventure, Jason and I had the pleasure of staying at The Perry Lane Hotel. A newer hotel on the scene, this luxury property lived up to the hype. It perfectly combined the charm and historic nature of the city with a fresh and modern approach. Upon arrival, we were greeted with chilled glasses of champagne and a luxurious, yet inviting ambiance. From the “living room” areas to the Emporium restaurant & market, the hotel is full of curated corners to make your stay enjoyable. After checking into our gorgeous room, we noticed the Byredo bath products, chocolate-chip cookies and the details that make a stay memorable. With all of our excitement, we explored the hotel further and ended-up on the rooftop, which was honestly one of the most happening scenes in the city. The hotel’s rooftop menu at Peregrin was delicious and great for sharing – we had lobster rolls, babaganoush, and deviled eggs to go with a bottle of sparkling rosé. We enjoyed the sunshine, looked as others played cornhole, and spent the early afternoon overlooking the Savannah skyline. What a perfect start to our trip!

What We Did:

While I’d like to say we had a jam-packed itinerary, this trip was quite the opposite. And I have to say…it was wonderful! Instead of running from one place to the next, we spent the days wandering around the city and taking in the sights and culture. We picked up the complimentary bikes at The Perry Lane (I opted for pink, of course) and rode through Savannah enjoying the beautiful and historic scenery. From squares and parks to horse-drawn carriages, the city is truly picturesque.

Besides wandering, we also happened to enjoy the city’s cocktail scene. We visited Prohibition for Happy Hour and enjoyed $1 oysters and $5 cocktails. We found the almost-hidden-to-strangers bar, AlleyCat Lounge and perused a wide menu of cocktails. They even have drinks for every sign of the zodiac! Last but not least was my favorite bar, Artillery. This top was an elegant cocktail bar with the most beautiful décor and even better drinks. It was definitely one of my highlights of the trip. Cocktails weren’t the only thing that was on the menu, because we also got the opportunity to attend a complimentary wine-tasting The Perry Lane Hotel. Every Sunday from 2-4pm, Emporium hosts a wine tasting in their beautiful open-air restaurant/market. Talk about perfect timing!

And no trip would be complete without some shopping. We visited the boutiques located on the cobblestone streets and even found some goodies at a second-hand store (Alexander Wang and Aquazzura shoes)! However, my favorite shop happened to be The Paris Market. Larger than I expected, the store had a quaint Parisian feel, full of home goodies, vintage-inspired finds, and accessories. Think the best version of Anthropologie possible! Everything would make the perfect gift, but I left the store with a little something for myself instead.

Where We Ate:

Well, no city guide would be complete without sharing my favorite restaurants from our trip. While we did our share of cocktail-tasting, we made up for it with our meals as well. I already shared the delicious rooftop snacks we had the Perry Lane Hotel, so that is a must!

We also visited The Grey for a lovely dinner of modern Southern fare with global flavors. First of all, the space is amazing! Nestled into Savannah’s old Greyhound bus station, the décor takes cues from its historic roots with a modern twist. We enjoyed duck golden rice, crudo, steak, mashed potatoes, and smoked collard greens. Yum!

One of my other favorite stops was The Collins Quarter for brunch. We knew that it was going to be good the second we saw the line of people waiting outside. We actually had time to put our names in and enjoy a brunch cocktail elsewhere. It was worth the wait! The restaurant has Australian-inspired cuisine and is known for its brunch. Let’s start with the cocktails…. berry bellinis, Aperol spritzes and bloody mary’s complete with shrimp and bacon. Jason ordered my favorite, shakshuka, and it didn’t disappoint.

And before we left town, we hit one of Savannah’s most beloved spots, Leopold’s Ice Cream. A classic, American ice cream parlor, the shop was originally founded in 1919. With both traditional and more adventurous flavors, I had to drag Jason out before he tried to sample them all. It was the perfectly sweet end-cap to our amazing weekend!

One of the reasons Jason and I were excited to move back down South was the opportunity to do weekend trips to beautiful Southern cities. This weekend in Savannah was the perfect example of this coming to life, and we can’t wait to visit again. If anyone needs further details on recommendations or has questions about our experience, feel free to reach out!
