Polka dots have never really been my thing. I’m more of a stripes gal. But I have to say….they are starting to grow on me. I saw this champagne skirt with an angled hem and thought it would go perfectly with some favorites I already have in my closet. Neutral sweaters, a black turtleneck, mock neck bodysuit…the list goes on and on.
For our recent trip to Savannah, I had to bring my new skirt along and add in some details to give it some Southern and girly flare. What did I pair my polka dots with? Pink pumps of course. I picked up these famous Manolo Blahnik Hangisi satin pumps that were waiting to be found at Saks Off Fifth. You may recognize these as Carrie’s Wedding Shoes (in blue) in the first Sex & The City movie! Well, While I’m no Carrie Bradshaw, I do absolutely love these pumps that are more versatile than you might initially think. I’ve worn them to work with jeans and a collared shirt and paired them with dresses of equally bright shades.
To finish my Savannah weekend look, I capped it all off with my favorite Eric Javits straw boater, my new Céline (swoon) and classic, cat-eye shades!
Well, the weather has been crazy and unseasonably warm. But leave it to the universe to send a cold snap on the couple days that I went home to Florida! Well, I jumped on the opportunity to layer up with some of my favorite Winter pieces. You’ve seen this Rag & Bone coat before, but this year I’m updating my seasonal staples with some new accessories. While you can’t go wrong with a classic pair of black jeans (currently on sale for $12.53!) and a turtleneck, it’s my new beret and mules that I’m excited about. Cream shoes in Winter? Yes, believe it! These are my new favorite pair of shoes to slide on for both comfort and style. I particularly love to wear them with all black or chunky sweaters and jeans. And my latest beret? A mint green find from Goorin Bros. that matches my backdrop perfectly! I love wearing the mint with black, cream, camel and even mustard! I’m always excited about an unexpected color combination!
When you hear the colors red, white and blue – what season do you think of? Summer, right!
Well, for Fall I took the Americana color palette and made it more appropriate for the cooler temperatures that we’re so desperately wanting.
Stripes are a must for every season in my opinion, and this look is no exception. I paired my favorite blue/white striped skirt with an equally stripey tee from Forever 21. I love the long sleeves and the red-orange hue of the collar and stripes. Plus, the price isn’t bad to boot!
Speaking of boots (or sneakers for that matter), a casual and cool white sneaker goes with absolutely everything! I wear these with the most colorful outfits (like this one) or even all black! I even wear them to business meetings to make work attire more youthful.
Lastly, I finished my look with my red leather jacket that is uniquely Fall! Thriller-inspired, the beautiful red goes with everything from camel (like my beret) to other bright hues. With the addition of the beret, I suddenly feel more Parisian and less Fourth of July. But hey, nothing wrong with bringing a little summer into this season!
